Lavender is native to the Mediterranean region, southern Europe, northern Africa, northeastern India and southeastern Asia. It has a wide variety uses, although its aromatic scent is most commonly known as a treatment for anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Teas or tinctures of lavender are traditionally taken to ease anxiety, depression, flatulence, and spasms. Aromatherapy using lavender is used as a nerve tonic foor promoting relaxation and restful sleep.
