Thyme is a Mediterranean plant that is a member of mint family (Lamiaceae). In Folklore, thyme was associated with courage. Ancient Greeks burned thyme incense for purification and as an offering to the gods to conjure bravery and courage.
In Skincare
We cultivate thyme and use its essential oil for use in our Skin Salve due to its aromatic, antimicrobial, astringent, and anti-inflammatory properties. Thyme’s antimicrobial properties makes it an ideal topical application for acne and minor cuts.
Traditional Uses
In addition to its many magical and spiritual uses, thyme is applied in folk medicine as a wound wash, as a culinary herb and tea to relax the digestive system, and for clearing mucousy coughs.
